About Us

Jeff and Rhonda Cameron met in Port Angeles in 1996.  Jeff had just returned from serving his country in Operation Desert Storm as a Navy Helicopter Crewman and was attending Peninsula College.  They worked together for two years and married in 1998.

In 2000 Jeff discovered a program that fit his interest uniquely called, “Personal Chef Service”.   A wonderful position where Jeff is hired by a client to come into there home and prepare a months worth of meals at one time that reside in there freezer or refrigerator, ready to be defrosted and reheated for an easy, healthy meal.    Jeff went to the United States Personal Chef Association School for a course on how to become a Personal Chef.  Upon return, started putting his name out there to receive clients and cook them up some delicious meals just like his grandmas had taught him to be passionate to do.

Jeff and Rhonda soon there after began their family.   In 2003 there oldest daughter was born.  Her name is Elizabeth Pearl Cameron, otherwise known as Betty.   She is named after Rhonda’s grandma and Jeff’s great grandma.   A year and a half later, came Sarah Nadine Cameron, also named after both grandmas.  This time Sarah after Jeff’s great grandma and Nadine after Rhonda’s grandma on her fathers side.

In June of 2007 Jeff and Rhonda were offered the unique opportunity to buy the Café business called the “Elements Café”.  With young girls at home they found the offer challenging but they wouldn’t have it any other way.  In past years they had dreamed and talked about if they had their own restaurant what it would be like, and this was the perfect fit.  The changes so far have been minimal.  They are focusing on their passions; not just feeding the people, but helping them to celebrate their special occasions and events with catering birthday parties and weddings, providing businesses and groups with specialty box lunches and providing “Meals for Home” for people who would like the Personal Chef Services through the Café kitchen.

In 2008 Jeff and Rhonda along with their dedicated staff will change the name of the Elements Café to “Cameron’s Café and Custom Catering”.  The décor in the café has been changed from something more tropical and aquatic to warm, cozy and country farm style.  The pictures are that of family and local heritage.  The original Cameron homesteaders settled up on Blue Mountain Road in 1899; had 13 children and lived in a small cabin of simple means.    The hall way in the café is lined with Sequim Mayday Event pictures, some old time school pictures and some local logging scenes.   The hopes of the décor are that the local community members can come together and enjoy some of the pictures that they might even find in their own family photo albums, and also to celebrate our family as local pioneers to allow newcomers to know that some of the original families are still around and our family pictures found on the walls will help them to see how things use to be.
